I mentioned in a previous post that I was heading to a music festival a few weekends back, so I figured I would post some random snapshots from that weekend and include one outfit in the mix (since, woops, it's the only outfit documentation I did the entire time). The festival was musical fun, grilled cheese sandwiches, beautiful breezes, swan pond picnics, beers, and a sea of high waisted Levis shorts. I had some fun.
This weekend is one of the only Summer weekend this year where I have absolutely nothing on the go. No travelling. No weddings. No nothing. Don't get me wrong - I love summer adventure the very most. I love road trips & get togethers & parties & all of the rest, but I am a pretty tired girl from this Summer's hectic schedule (and broke), and this weekend is reserved for finishing up some wedding photos I shot a few weeks back, having a beer or 2 (but not 8 - yikes), reading my book, tackling to do list items, making at-home breakfast (it's been so long), and listening to records.
Whatever you get up to.. have a great weekend.

Fully Classy Flirt
Dress: Gentle Fawn / Shoes: ALDO / Sunnies: reNeu Boutique / Purse: Le Chateau / Watch: Guess / Bracelet: Vince Camuto c/o Envy
I mentioned in my last post that I am attending a bunch of weddings this Summer, and here I am to document yet another wedding outfit that was worn just this weekend past - how is that for blogging punctuality? This dress was lent to me by my roommate, who wore it to a wedding last summer and I have to say, it's sort of the most perfect. Neutral, pastel-y colour palette, interesting geometric print, airy-ness & comfort.. and my most favourite part: the crossover skirt in front. Flirty but fully classy. A fully classy flirt.
P.S. Tricksies. I'm definitely not engaged. I just wanted to do a little test out to see if people actually read my written blog content, and Kate & I thought that this would be the most hilarious way. We were chatting about how we are pretty sure many people don't read written content like, at all, in the way that they will comment on posts, and we wanted to do a small experiment.
That's definitely a cubic zirconia ring that my mom gave to me.
I'm definitely the most single you can be.
And those horribly bit fingernails definitely don't deserve any real diamonds.
So if you read this, enjoy this joke. If not, well.. now you think I'm engaged & that's pretty darn funny.

The Blues & The Browns
Dress: c/o Joe Fresh / Shoes: ALDO / Bag & Belt: Thrifted / Sunnies: reNeu Boutique / Watch: Guess / Bracelets: Thrifted & Vince Camuto c/o Envy
I had the best weekend.
In the spirit of time sensitivity, I'll share with you my Facebook status from yesterday, which is kind of telling in itself, since I hardly ever make statuses on that social media platform. "Sometimes you wander 4 hours into Quebec wilderness on your own for a wedding, run through a field with sparklers, cheers to fireworks, drink beers from a can, dance to a live country band, eat three pieces of cake, sleep under the most beautiful stars you've ever seen, and have just the very best time.". Unmentioned too is the early morning coffee I drank on a deck overlooking a river valley, the solo woods walk I took with a pup, and the delicious yet disgusting poutine I ate before leaving the province.
I've had an up & down Summer, and there have been some recent moments of ickiness. But then I remembered & recounted it: my life is really not all that hard. At all. I have it swell. I am alive, for frig sakes. I am the luckiest.
So what's next? Getting back on track with eating, editing photos of all the beauty lately, digging into hot yoga, reading more & internetting less, launching a street style blog, and getting some at-home things done before my next wedding (at home!) in oh, 18 days.
Oh, and this outfit? Worn to another wedding earlier in the Summer, where I took the photos. I picked it up it for its longer length (never good to flash the groom), and have found it fit into my wardrobe just wonderfully these past few weeks. It often gets action with this blazer for work, and it paired well with this hat for a boating trip.
To note: I think it's finally time I do something with this mop of mine. I don't dye it anymore, but past dye jobs + summer times have made its colour pretty uneven & crazy. That said, I have no idea what to do. I don't really want to take on dye jobs again.. but what's a girl to do?

Crop Tops & Other Thoughts
Skirt: c/o Joe Fresh / Top: American Apparel via reNeu Boutique / Shoes: Ardene / Satchel: Vintage / Watch: Guess / Bracelet: Vince Camuto c/o Envy / Sunnies & Hairbow: reNeu Boutique
Hello to you. Here I am on a Thursday posting my very first post of the week (delinquent). Here I am in a hair bow (typical). Here I am crop top (this is a new one). I'm sorry about being a little sparse lately, but things feel like they are constant & busy, and it sort of seems like each week runs into the next one. I think this has to do with the abundance of events that fell into my Summer this year (weddings (4 to be exact), festivals, trips, reunions, birthdays, etc.) - this is a great thing - a happy thing - a lovely thing (and also an expensive thing), and I couldn't be more thankful that things are busy & friend filled.
When trying to get a grip on my week & looking through my diary, I realized that I'm an absolute list freak. I've got "cleaning" lists, and "this week" lists, and "today" lists, and "life improvement" lists, and "feel better" lists, and "projects" lists, and "writing topic" lists, and I even have a dorky list of sweet attributes of a crush (I'll regret admitting that one later, but hey - we are who we are). The point is this: I'm pretty "Type A" in a lot of ways, but I'm also a ridiculously huge procrastinator, two antonymous possessions.
So my question to you poses as: how do you get from list to execution? Educate me & inspire me, pals.

Getting Sappy... Again
If you followed me last year, you would have seen me post a collage prior to this very same weekend, as I'm off to my very favorite music festival. I don't really do "festival style", but rather, regular style... at a festival. This festival takes place in the "downtown" core of small town, and the there are tents & venues & accommodations versus fields & tenting & hula hooping. Very much more my speed. I like to be comfortable, since I'm there to enjoy the bands, but have some fun in planning my attire nonetheless. Here is what I will be taking with.
Clothes: Keeping it simple & neutral (boy was last year colorful!). Some favorite nude silk blouses, light wash denim shorts, black crop top, basic black pencil skirt, and ballet-ish flats.
Accessories: I scored the greatest boater hat, a new sunglasses shape, a feverishly large gold necklace, some bracelets (and of course my clock of a watch), hair bows for buns, a black & gold satchel (I just picked up a great vintage one that's very similar to this one), and a fun iPhone case (mine is a bunny, but I really want to switch it out for this cat one).
Beauty: BB Cream, Lipstick in "Jungle Red", and my trusty Stila Liquid Liner.
Misc: Beers, blanket, and anticipated iced coffees. For recovery purposes.
If you want to follow along via Instagram, you can follow me via "dollparade", or go right here. Have yourselves a very fine weekend - I am off to check on my banana bread. x

Spot
Dress: Unknown / Belt: Vintage / Shoes: Le Chateau / Bag: ASOS / Sunnies: reNeu Boutique / Bracelets: Vince Camuto c/o Envy / Oia Jules / Banana Republic c/o
I'm a pretty big fan of the simple summer dress. I'm a pretty big fan of the asymmetrical spot (versus the polka dot). I'm a pretty big fan of high necked collars. I am generally not a fan of the "cut out". On anything. This dress, however, kind of won me over. The back does have a cut out, but it's via a criss cross of material, and in a sensible place (when they are randomly in the front on say, your rib cage, I just get lost). With that in mind, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised with it on the immediate, feeling like the back added just that little something different.
P.S. I listed it as "unknown" because I can't remember the brand and it is legit buried somewhere right now. #thetruth
How is your week?

Short-Shorts
Shorts: c/o Joe Fresh / Hat: Gap / Top: Theory / Flats: Urban Outfitters / Earrings: J. Crew / Sunnies: Le Chateau / Watch: Guess
I have a fedora rule. Unless wide brim, fedoras must be made of straw, and they must be worn in Summer. For me, anything else is just.. a little bit of a no-no. This said, I love Summer hats. I have a collection of about 5, and always forget to wear them. I remembered this day. I recently came upon the most perfect boater hat that I may just show you tomorrow.
These little shorts came from Joe Fresh, and though they are a little shorter than my usual style, I decided that pairing them with flats and a high collared blouse might make them late-20-something-lady appropriate (I am not pro underbutt). I love the eyelet, and I love the navy, a colour I've been extra smitten with lately.
Happy Thursday.

Baby Blue Beauty
Blazer: c/o Joe Fresh / Dress: Jayee / Shoes: Boutique 9 / Bag: Michael Kors "Hamilton" / Watch: Guess / Bracelets: Vince Camuto c/o Envy & Oia Jules / Necklace: Thrifted
A quick lunch time post for you on this Tuesday.
I last wore this leather dress on the blog back in the Winter time, when I paired it with one of my most worn tweed blazers. Well, it's much too hot for tweed in July, as I kind of found out by wearing it one sweltering day (bad choice), so enter my new favourite blazer: this baby blue beauty from Joe Fresh runway. To tell you the truth, Joe sent this on over to me as a full suit (there are some fantastic high waisted pants to accompany), and I can't even wait to style it up as a full suit. But for now, in these here 30 degrees, where bare legs are a must must must, I'm introducing the blazer as a separate. I've been throwing it over just about everything lately (especially when in air conditioned offices), but for this day, I chose a simple shifted dress, some baby pink pumps, and some gold on the neck & the wrist.
Have a lovely week.
