Season Talk

Pants: Flying Monkey / Booties: Joe Fresh / Floral Bomber: H&M / Shearling Bomber: Joe Fresh / Turtleneck: Joe Fresh / Sunnies: Le Chateau / Earrings: Thrifted / Bag: Michael Kors "Hamilton"

I find Winter blogging kind of challenging. Beyond a few nice coats & a few decent pairs of boots, my cold weather style is viscerally lacking. Turtleneck & skinnies - with the same pair of beat up booties, every. single. day. I see ladies online & think: how in God's blue canoe did they do that? Ladies looking polished but interesting with a myriad of visual stimulants via accessories & pieces. I've come up with two possible answers.

1) They live in a part of the world that is much more temperate & forgiving when it comes to what they can actually wear outside. 2) They know how to layer. Layering has never been a strong suit of mine, and I've never found myself drawn to vests & the like. But this said & this known, it's time to step up my game. It's time to crack down and figure out just how I can feel eclectic but put together this Winter without breaking the bank on every shearling jacket & vest I see or dismissing the environmental reality of the place that I live.

How do you get by without looking boring all Winter long?

Like you I generally stick to a pretty strict formula in winter time. It becomes more about keeping warm and less about style. This year though I am determined to change things up a bit more with fun coats and boots.

I love the floral jacket, it's a nice pop of colour in this look.
Winter is hard for sure, layering definitely is key as well as mixing different textures to keep visual interest. Also, for me, a big cozy pretty scarf works every single time

For what it's worth, I don't think your winter style is boring at all - in fact I think it's quite inspirational, particularly your last Style Panel look! I do tend to stick to the same formula as well, but have adopted two different methods in the past year or so that seems to work. Play with different proportions / styles as much as you can, and when that gets boring then switch it up with colour and pattern.. rinse and repeat. And have fun! I know that might not be much help (and I know you live in a MUCH colder climate) but I hope it's encouraging somewhat!

Have a great weekend lovely!

I'm 13, and also my grandparents are coming over for dinner tonight. My dad's creating dinner as well as
I am making dessert. I wanted to make this White Chocolate, Custard as well as Raspberry
thing (it sounds completely wicked, I know) but my mum mentioned it's too fattening (sob). And also it has to be easy, she also said that. So what could I make? She wants me to make a carrot cake, but I've created
carrot cakes thus many times and also I need anything that at least appears fancier but
is easy to make..

I'm curious to find out what blog platform you have been using? I'm experiencing some minor security
issues with my latest blog and I'd like to find something more secure. Do you have any solutions?
